The only question worth asking

I read White House Briefing pretty much everyday and Dan Froomkin asks a lot of good questions that reporters should put to George and company. But in the end I think there is only one question worth asking, over and over again in a Helen Thomas sort of way: Why should I believe this time?

CNN asked CNN.com readers to submit questions for Wolf Blitzer to ask President Bush during the Blitzer's "interview" of the President last night.

I submitted two questions.

(1) Mr. President, you have asked Congress to authorize "aggressive interrogation" techniques, but you have declined to discuss the specifics of those techniques. Without revealing what those techniques are, would you feel comfortable if foreign governments were to use those techniques against US prisoners of war?

(2) Mr. President, your Vice President and your Secretary of Defense have compared the global war on terror with the fight against fascism during World War II. Given the magnitude of this struggle, have you encouraged your two adult daughters to join the US military? Do you have any idea why they have chosen not to enlist?

I don't have TV, so I didn't see the interview. But, I'm pretty sure that CNN didn't use either of my questions.
